My Belief in Prayer
by compound complex inmy belief in prayer was once bolstered by my strong attachment to what i had read in aid to bible understanding.
my having a part in its initial prep in the factory and, later, a detailed proofing of thousands of references to it made this bible dictionary an influence in my former life.
please note this extract on jehovah's seeming delay in the answering of prayer.

Life during the 1,000 reign???
by Joliette inme and my brother recently got into a discussion about the 1,000 reign.
i told him that even after armageddon, you know that you still have to work for your salvation??
he says yes, that he is prepared to work for jehovah (wth), and that it will be a wonderful time.

Old Navy, I agree.
Anything less than that, and the Evil One will have won.
Never may that happen!
Thank you for voicing those sentiments

During the summer of '73, great with child, I read the Aid encyclopaedia from Aaron to Zuzim.
I did not agree that God requires us to "prove" our genuineness in our petitions. Neither did I believe the assertion that He answers prayers collectively.
Why didn't I simply walk away back then?
P.S. CoCo, did you see what I did there with reference to the Aid to Bible Understanding publication?

Learning New Words
by compound complex ingreetings, fellow lexophiles:.
last night, i watched a cool road movie, the trip, with steve coogan and rob brydon.
they were counseled by steve's dad to take an "anticlockwise" route home, rather than the clockwise one steve had proposed.

Crepuscular and donnee'.
Those were on Jeopardy! and an online newspaper.
I knew about crepuscular, but not donnee' - such beautiful words.
Thanks for this, CoCo.

I like how Ray Franz stated in COC that his uncle, Fred Franz, felt the need to decide what was appropriate for God Almighty to do.
Presumptuousness magnified to the nth degree!

Thirty-Five Years Later
by compound complex inin the market today, i walked down an aisle and glanced over at a middle-aged man and the woman beside him pushing a shopping cart.
i couldn't place the man but recognized the somewhat younger woman, a former student.
when the fellow started talking, i realized it was her brother, also a one-time student.

I hear you.
I tried to embed the Folk Alley Session with Jay Ungar/Molly Mason, but couldn't.
Neither the Civil War soundtrack.
Paul Roebling's reading of Sullivan Ballou's last letter to his beloved Sarah while Ashokan Farewell played in the background is a real tear jerker.
Thanks for this thread.
